How Does Chiropractic Care Relieve Arthritis and Joint Pain?

What is Arthritis?

Arthritis is an inflammatory condition that affects the joints causing pain and stiffness with or without decreased ability to move. There are many types but the most common is osteoarthritis. Some people call it ``wear and tear” or degenerative joint disease. You can have arthritis pain in the shoulder, back, knee, ankle, hand or any joint in the body, even your jaw. It may be severe or mild, acute or chronic. In my 36 years in practice, I've treated many types of arthritis.

Cold laser helps reduce inflammation and accelerate healing. Affected joints as well as muscle, ligaments and tendons can be hard to heal. Patients can often feel relief after just one treatment with this safe, pain-free therapy and easy to use treatment. We have a variety of cold lasers (Class IV, Class III, violet, red and blue) that are appropriate for patients of all ages and can help many different conditions including osteoarthritis of the knee, hands, elbow, feet and ankle, hip and shoulder. In addition to getting the wrist bones adjusted, carpal tunnel responds very well to cold laser with many patients having less tingling, numbness and pain.

Chiropractic adjustments, also called chiropractic manipulation, can be done at any joint in the body. Most people think of only the spine when they think of a chiropractic physician but I have extensive additional training and an advanced degree, Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) in sports injury prevention, diagnosis and treatment. I have additional training to adjust wrists, feet and ankles, shoulders and even jaws for TMJ dysfunction!
